DRUM GARDEN is a specially constructed performance by 10 or 11 drummers from the south east London underground, a highly motivated and vibrant scene with wildly individual players. We will be playing throughout the garden so that the sound moves across and through the space. Strategies have been devised to keep the playing fresh.
10 or 11 drummers play a strategic sequence the sound moves through and around the garden no fixed position, each of us experiences something different and yet we are all in the Herb Garden at the same time
The Herb Garden (MacMillan Street, SE8 at the northern end of Deptford Church Street) is the location for a regular series of improvised and outsider music performances free to the public. The sculptures of artist-in-residence Mick Bonfield are set inside the garden.
